About the Artist Wanda Karcher Wanda Karcher began making glass beads around 1998 in Austin Texas. She has taken classes from several nationally known bead artists such as Leah Fairbanks and Lisa St. Martin, as well as classes at the "Studio at Corning", Corning, N.Y. and "Timber Wolf Studio" in Lawrence, MA. She has a passion for glass in all of its magical forms. Her background professionally is Nursing and Teaching, so it was inevitable that she would move into teaching once she developed her skills at the torch. Her philosophy is ~ "I love to share what I have worked so hard to learn, and the abilities I have developed over time. I will never stop learning more from other artists, and sharing it with new-comers. I believe you can do almost anything with glass, just let your imagination take you there. The wonderful colors available from the different manufacturers help make it happen." |
